HORIZONTAL BORE, GLUE AND DOWEL INSERTION MACHINES
CNC controlled machines designed to flexibly and efficiently bore, glue and dowel panel and solid wood pieces.
This category of machines are single side working centers that can be equipped with a variety of units including vertical and horizontal drills, grooving saws and vertical and horizontal routers.
OMAL FEATURES AND BENEFITS
OMAL specializes in developing custom application machines to solve customer’s production challenges in single side working centers with specific expertise in hardware and cam insertion.
The INSERT and LIVELLO series offer many high end machine features like central lubrication, 3-D Solid Model design and 3-D dynamic parts manuals, and interactive synoptic diagnostic screens.
All these machines feature OMAL’s “Sure Shot Dowel Revolver System”
The dowel insertion revolver holds a dowel while a dowel is inserted plus checks via fiber optic sensor to see if next dowel is present to prevent misfeeds.
The OMAL “SURE SHOT” revolver system guarantees a dowel is inserted every time! Omal is the ONLY machine that checks if the dowel is in the ready position for inserting, all other machines assume the dowel is in position.
Changes in dowel length, diameter, and split dowels can all cause jamming on all systems except OMAL.
“Speed” OMAL has the fastest cycle time in the market: Less than ONE second for each bore, glue, and dowel insertion when holes are on 32/64mm intervals!! Standard is 32mm between drill and dowel inserter.
If integrated top drill is added, this defaults to 64mm.
The HBD can be ordered at 64, 96, or 128. We can also provide double drill and dowel at 32mm for one drill diameter (ie. 6mm for drawers) and 64mm for a second dowel diameter (ie. 8mm for casework).
For maximum speed, the drill and dowel for the 8mm diameter will be on 64mm centers and the drill and dowel for the 6mm diameter will be on 32mm centers.
“Indexable Center and Side Fences” (option)
The selection of the loading zone (left, left center, right center, or right) is executed by CNC and automatic based on the size or if using bar coding. The center reference is excludable on the 1300 (50” work table) and the center and side references are excludable on the 1550. This means that you can process up to a 10’ panel using alternate referencing!
“No Drip Glue Nozzle”
Omal utilizes a stainless steel pin and nozzle assembly, precisely machined with a reinforced tip to insure water/glue does not leak. Omal uses a 3 seal system to keep glue from seeping back through the needle seal and into the electro-valve. Omal has programmable electronic control of glue amount. The injector unit is equipped with an inductive sensor to verify glue is shot
“Powerful, PC Based Software”
|Large robust clamps”
Heavy duty (option – standard on HBD 1300).
The double clamps will hold panels either vertically or horizontally for edge or face processing on the HBD 1300 and 1550.
If the machine is equipped with top drills, vertical part clamping is not possible.
Special ping systems are also available for special applications
OMAL’s Laser Sensor will automatically measure the part and populate the program list for the part width.
Automatic Width LASER Sensor, Measures the width of the panel and calculates number of dowels based on a parametric template file.
Width can also be modified from the list. Model the same logic you have in your cabinet design package and create automatic part recognition.
No need for bar codes for program retrieval.
DOUBLE DEPTH drill control (option). This feature allows the customer to program two different depths, T1 for one depth and T2 for 2nd depth. Same tool. This is convenient when you place the part vertically in the machine, you can drill a shallower depth with the same diameter. It’s like getting an extra spindle for a 2nd depth control. It’s on demand by the control and FAST. Not available if vertical drilling is added to the machine.
Great for customer who may use the machine for construction boring. Also good for customers who want perfect boxes and can’t control tolerances on their panel saw.
